Melbourne The list of the most powerful countries is out. India has become the third most powerful country, leaving behind Russia and Japan. China is ahead of India and America is at the top of the list. India has made a good jump in the Asia Power Index released by Australia’s Lowy Institute think tank. It says that Japan’s power has decreased due to the decline in its economic condition. Japan has now become the fourth most powerful and influential Asian country. This list is released every year keeping in mind the resources and influence of these countries. In this list, Australia has got the fifth place and Russia, which is embroiled in the Ukraine war, has got the sixth place.
America got 81.7, China 72.7 and Japan 38.9 points. Pakistan got only 14.6 points and is at number 16. A total of 27 countries and regions were assessed in the Asia Power Index. It looked at what these countries have and what they are doing with it. It includes countries from Pakistan to Russia, Australia, New Zealand and America in the Pacific region. Data of 6 years has been used in it. This is the most comprehensive assessment of the rapidly changing distribution of power in Asia till date. It says that America is still the most influential power in Asia but now it is facing pressure from the rapidly growing army of China.
The report says that India’s power is increasing in Asia. This is the first time that India has achieved the third position in terms of power. However, there is a huge gap between the expectations and reality of emerging India. It says, Asia Power Index shows that India has limited ability to show power and influence east of the Malacca Strait. However, India has a lot of resources and has a lot of potential to develop as a big power. Talking about India, it got fourth place in military power, fourth in cultural influence, fourth in economic potential, third in future resources and fourth in diplomatic influence. India’s overall ranking has now become third in Asia.
