Dozens of temples have been burnt by rioters in Bangladesh.
Many Hindus have been brutally murdered. More than 20 Awami League leaders were burnt alive. Statements by religious leaders in India have come out amid the ongoing riots in the neighboring country.
Jaggi Vasudev, popularly known as Sadhguru, has advised India to worry about the atrocities being committed against Hindus there.
While posting a news related to the attack on temples, he wrote on Instagram, “The atrocities against Hindus are not just an internal matter of Bangladesh.
India can never become Maha-Bharat if we do not stand up and take action at the earliest to ensure the safety of minorities in our neighbourhood.”
Referring to the partition, he further wrote, “What was a part of this nation unfortunately became a neighbor. But it is our responsibility to save the people associated with our civilization from these horrific atrocities.”
Earlier, senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Bhaiyaji Joshi on Tuesday said that the RSS requests the government to ensure the safety of Hindus in neighbouring country Bangladesh, where there is political turmoil.
Joshi, a member of the RSS’s All India Executive and its former general secretary, said there have been reports of the minority Hindu community being targeted in Bangladesh.
When asked by reporters about the situation of Hindus in Bangladesh, Joshi said, “Bangladesh is a separate nation. There are limits to what voluntary organisations can do from here.”
But we are requesting the (Indian) government to ensure the safety of Hindus there. We are confident that the government will take steps in this direction.”
Let us tell you that in Bangladesh, after Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister and left the country, many Hindu temples, houses and business establishments were vandalized, women were attacked and at least two Hindu leaders associated with the Awami League party were killed in the violence that broke out. Community leaders gave this information on Tuesday.
“We have compiled some incidents of vandalism in different parts of the country, which has worried the Hindus and other minority communities,” Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council leader Kajol Debnath told PTI on the sidelines of a meeting of the group here.
Debnath said that according to available information, two Hindu leaders belonging to Hasina’s Awami League party were killed in northwestern Sirajganj and Rangpur. He said the council was still gathering more information. Debnath said the attackers “looted shops, temples and houses and attacked Hindu women.”
