New Delhi . Indian Navy’s nuclear submarine ‘INS Arighat’ has become a part of the Strategic Force Command (SFC). This is India’s second nuclear submarine. After its official induction, India will have 2 nuclear submarines. Earlier in 2016, the indigenous nuclear submarine INS Arihant was inducted into the war fleet.
The word Arighat is derived from Sanskrit language. In Sanskrit, it means the destroyer of enemies. This second nuclear submarine of India has been built in the shipyard located in Visakhapatnam. INS Arighat is equipped with K-15 ballistic missile (nuclear) which can strike up to 750 kilometers from the sea. Not only this, the Indian Navy will also equip this submarine with K-4 missile which can strike up to 4000 kilometers.
