Dr. Sudipta Mohanty of Indian origin, living in Boston, America, was accused of serious allegations during the air travel. A 14-year-old girl had alleged that he was masturbating in the plane itself.
After the complaint was registered, Dr. Sudipta was also arrested. At the same time, Dr. also had to endure a lot of insult. Now the Boston Federal Court has honorably acquitted him.
Dr. Sudipta says that due to this baseless allegation he and his family had to suffer a lot of mental anguish. He said, till today I have not understood why such an allegation was made.
Dr. Sudipta Mohanty had said in his written statement, my fiancee was sitting next to me in the plane. I don’t know why this was done to me.
I dedicated my entire life to the service of the people. It is very shameful and painful for me to face such allegations.
Let us tell you that Dr. Sudipta was arrested by the FBI. However, he got bail from the court. If Sudipta were found guilty, he could have been sentenced to 90 days in jail, a fine of up to $5,000 and supervision of up to one year.
What allegations did the minor make?
The minor girl had alleged that Dr. Sudipta was sitting on the seat next to her in the flight from Honolulu to Boston. He covered himself with a blanket and then started masturbating inside.
He said that his zip was open. After this, when Dr. Sudipta went to the toilet, the girl got up and sat on the other seat.
He also complained about this to the crew member. Dr. Sudipta was arrested on 11 August 2023.
Sudipta had claimed that the people traveling with him never felt that he had done anything wrong. Dr. Mohanty’s lawyer said, he is a talented doctor.
His history has been clean. Such allegations were never made against him. The five months after the girl’s allegations were no less than a nightmare for them.
However now the decision has come. Now he will be able to focus on his work again.
