Tehran. 250 Afghan civilians have died in firing by Iran’s border guards on the Afghanistan border. Iran Human Rights Organization (Halvash) has made this claim. According to the organization, these people were Afghan refugees, who were entering the border of Iran.
The organization also shared a video showing the bodies of the victims, stating that these individuals were killed in the border area. It has been revealed that more than 300 people were included in the group of migrants. Only 50 of this group could survive. The rest of the group were killed in the firing.
The report comes amid reports of harassment, torture and ill-treatment of Afghan refugees by Iranian forces. The actions of Iranian border guards have drawn strong reactions domestically and internationally. However, till now no comment has been made on the matter by the officials of the Taliban government of Afghanistan.
There are a large number of Afghan refugees in Iran but their situation is quite serious. Afghan refugees in Iran face human and basic rights violations.
