Kyiv. Is the trend of the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine changing? Earlier the Ukrainian army entered deep inside Russia till Kursk, while now Ukraine has carried out rapid drone attacks on Moscow. According to the report, more than 11 drones were seen in the sky of Moscow alone. Russian officials have described it as the biggest drone attack on Moscow since the war started in February 2022. However, it was claimed that all these drones have been shot down. In fact, the war between Russia and Ukraine is being fought mostly in the villages, forests and fields of eastern Ukraine. It is rarely seen that drone attacks have been carried out on Moscow, which has a population of more than 21 million.
The Russian Defense Ministry said it destroyed a total of 45 drones over Russian territory, including 11 over the Moscow region, 23 over the border region of Bryansk, six in the Belgorod region, three in the Kaluga region and two in the Kursk region. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said some of the drones were destroyed over the city of Podolsk, about 38 kilometers south of the Kremlin. Sobyanin said this was the largest attempt to attack Moscow using drones so far. “Moscow’s strong air defenses successfully repelled attacks from all enemy UAVs,” he said.
The attack comes as Russia continues to advance into eastern Ukraine, where it controls about 18 percent of the territory. Russia is also struggling to prevent a Ukrainian incursion into the Kursk region. It is the biggest attack on Russian territory since World War II.
