Gaza. At least 73 Palestinians have been killed and more than 100 injured in an Israeli attack on Beit Lahiya city in northern Gaza, while many are missing. According to media reports, Israeli air strikes targeted a multi-storey building, which also damaged several nearby houses. This attack was carried out in a crowded residential area, where women and children became its victims.
Buildings collapsed in the attack and many people were buried under the debris. The director of the hospital in Beit Lahiya said it lacked the resources needed to treat the injured and that many people buried under the debris could not be rescued. He has termed this Israeli attack as genocide and a war of ethnic cleansing.
Meanwhile, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said that Hamas was exaggerating the casualty figures in Gaza. The IDF claimed that they were carrying out attacks targeting the Hamas boys and doing their best to avoid harming innocent people. They said they are investigating the incident.
The Indonesian hospital in Beit Lahiya was also bombed by Israel.
Israeli tanks surrounded the hospital and attacked its upper floors, where there were more than 40 patients and staff. The hospital lost power in the attack and suffered serious damage to its structure. The attack comes at a time when violence and humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip has deepened and the need for rescue efforts and medical assistance for Palestinian civilians has increased.
