The Israeli army is said to be preparing for a ground attack. The Israeli army chief said on Wednesday that the force is preparing for a possible ground operation in Lebanon.

Addressing troops on the country’s northern border, Army Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi said the latest air strikes were carried out with the goal of preparing the ground for entering Lebanon and destroying Hezbollah.

He said that to achieve the goal of returning displaced citizens of northern Israel to their homes, ‘we are preparing a maneuverable process.’

The port of the southern Israeli city of Eilat was attacked by a drone on Wednesday and another drone was intercepted.

Biden expressed fear of war breaking out between Israel and Hezbollah

US President Joe Biden said on Wednesday that rising tensions between Israel and Hezbollah could lead to a full-scale war. However, he expressed hope that a way could be found to prevent further bloodshed.

Biden said this during an interview on channel ‘ABC’. His remarks came amid days of shelling between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah militants in Lebanon.

The violence has killed hundreds of people and raised fears of another full-scale war in West Asia.
