Jerusalem. Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant were dealt a blow by the International Criminal Court (ICC). The court had issued arrest warrant against them. After this, Israel has now told the International Criminal Court (ICC) that it will appeal against the arrest warrants of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant.
Israel has rejected the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant. PM Netanyahu has posted this information on his social media platform X.
PM Netanyahu posted on X, saying, Israel denies the authority of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague and the validity of the arrest warrant issued against the Prime Minister and the former Defense Minister. If the ICC rejects the appeal, Israel’s friends in the US and around the world will understand how biased the ICC is against Israel.
According to the report, a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office said that Israel has also requested to delay the execution of the arrest warrants, which were issued last week.
ICC had issued arrest warrant against Netanyahu-Gallant
Recently, the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague issued arrest warrants against Israeli PM Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant, charging them with crimes against humanity and war crimes. The allegations include targeting civilians in Gaza and implementing starvation policies.
Israel demands delay in implementing the warrant from ICC
PM Netanyahu wrote in a post on X that Israel has decided to appeal to the ICC. Also demanded delay in implementing the arrest warrant. He also said that the ICC warrant is baseless and has no solid facts or legal basis behind it.
What did ICC allege?
According to the report, the ICC had found PM Netanyahu and the Israeli Defense Minister guilty of ordering the Israeli army to deliberately kill Palestinian civilians and preventing international humanitarian aid from reaching Gaza, due to which the situation in Gaza was worsening. They left and there was a situation of starvation.
