Gaza. Nearly 34 people, including 19 women and children, were killed in Israeli airstrikes on a UN school and two houses in central Gaza. Hospital officials gave this information. Displaced Palestinians had taken refuge in the school. The Israeli army said that it targeted Hamas extremists planning an attack from inside the school located in the Nuseirat refugee camp. The war in Gaza has now entered its 11th month, in which thousands of people have died. International efforts to mediate a ceasefire between Israel and the Hamas militant group have been repeatedly disrupted.
