Israeli forces withdraw from Tubas in West Bank after 30-hour operation

Tel Avivi. Israeli forces have withdrawn from the northern West Bank city of Tubas after nearly 30 hours of military operation, Palestinian security sources have given this information. Israeli forces have withdrawn from the Fara refugee camp, south of Tubas, after killing four Palestinians and destroying homes and infrastructure. Meanwhile, the Palestine Monetary Authority said in a press statement that banking services were disrupted at some bank branches in the city of Jenin as Israeli forces destroyed internet cables in the city. Four youths were killed in an Israeli drone bombing of the Fara refugee camp, south of Tubas. On Wednesday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the Israel Security Authority and the Israeli police issued a joint statement, saying that Israeli security forces carried out anti-terrorism operations in three cities, killing five armed militants in Jenin and Tulkarm and four in the Fara refugee camp in Tubas. Israeli media reports said the operation in the northern West Bank was the largest of its kind since 2002. Tensions between Palestinians and Israelis have been rising in the West Bank since October 7, 2023, when the Hamas-Israel conflict began. According to Palestinian and Israeli sources, the Israeli army launched a large-scale military operation in the Tulkarm, Jenin and Tubas refugee camps on Wednesday night. Israel says some terrorists there were involved in operations against Israel, and it was necessary to arrest them. On the other hand, Palestinian security sources said on Wednesday that the cities of Jenin, Tubas and Tulkarm, as well as several camps, were targeted, causing damage to local infrastructure.
