The date of general elections in Pakistan was announced.
The election date was fixed for 8 February. Earlier, a resolution was passed in the Pakistani Parliament to postpone the election date.
It has been said that considering the weather and security, elections should be postponed for the time being.
Interim caretaker Information Minister Murtaza Solangi and PML-N MP Afnan Ullah Khan opposed the proposal. It was introduced by independent MP Dilawar Khan. At that time only 14 MPs were present in the Parliament.
According to the proposal, Dilawar said that everyone has been given the right to vote in the Constitution. In such a situation, the Election Commission of Pakistan is also committed to conducting fair elections. In such a situation, it is important that people of any region are not left aside in the elections. The weather is cold at this time. In such a situation, people in cold areas will not be able to vote.
It is coldest in January and February. In such a situation, people in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may face a lot of problems.
Dilawar said that if elections are held in such weather then this process cannot be considered complete.
Apart from this, while referring to the attack on Rajeta, Dilawar said that the atmosphere is such that people’s lives are in danger.
There are continuous terrorist attacks on security forces and civilians. At the same time, intelligence agencies have also warned of terrorist attacks during the elections. Attacks can also take place during election rallies.
