An accused in the shootout incident outside actor Salman Khan’s residence on Wednesday alleged that a jail doctor demanded money for the treatment of his broken finger.
Harpal Singh, arrested for his alleged role in the shootout in April, made the allegation before Judge BD Shelke when he was produced before the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) special court in Mumbai through video link.
The court directed the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Taloja jail, where Singh is lodged, to submit the report.
The court also asked the jail authorities to provide necessary treatment to the accused.
On the morning of April 14, two men on a motorcycle fired five rounds of fire outside Salman’s residence, Galaxy Apartments in Bandra.
The police had claimed that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was behind the attack. So far six people have been arrested in this case.
Singh told the court on Wednesday that a finger on his right hand was injured for the last eight months.
She alleged that the CMO demanded Rs 10,000 to send her to the hospital. The court has sought a report in the matter by October 7.
