Union Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar on Friday discussed several regional and global issues with his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock. Jaishankar said that he also had a good conversation with German Vice Chancellor and Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habach. He described the 7th India-Germany Inter-Governmental Consultations (IGC) meeting on social media platform X as a successful meeting. He also shared pictures of the meeting.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is on a three-day visit to India. Scholz met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also co-chaired the 7th India-Germany Inter-Governmental Consultations (IGC) meeting with PM Modi. Posting on Twitter, the Ministry of External Affairs said, “It was a pleasure to meet Annalena Baerbock, Foreign Ministry of Germany, following the successful meeting of the IGC today. During which a range of regional and global issues were discussed. As it enters its 25th year, Our strategic partnership is becoming deeper.”
In another post, the ministry also mentioned the conversation with the German Vice Chancellor. “Had a good conversation with German Vice Chancellor and Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habach. Exchange of views on contemporary global challenges, both strategic and economic,” he said.
After the IGC meeting, the Ministry of External Affairs issued a joint statement saying that PM Modi and Olaf Scholz reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing and deepening the India-Germany strategic partnership.
