Washington. It has been 4 years since the violent clash in Galwan Valley. Since then there is tension on LAC between India and China. Not only this, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar is also admitting without hesitation that India-China relations are very bad. In an event in America, Jaishankar said that for the world to be multipolar, it is necessary for Asia to be multipolar. Describing India-China relations as very bad, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said that these relations are important for the future of Asia, which will affect not only the continent but the entire world. He said that the simultaneous rise of India and China presents a very unique problem in current global politics.
Earlier he had said that 75 percent of the issues in eastern Ladakh between India and China have been resolved. In this program, Jaishankar also explained the meaning of his statement. Jaishankar said, when I said that 75 percent of it has been resolved – I was asked to sort of quantify – it is only about disengagement. Right now the main issue is patrolling. You know, both of us, how we patrol till the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
India and China want tensions in relations to ease ahead of a possible meeting between PM Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping during the BRICS summit next month. Relationships should be normal. Both countries have intensified diplomatic and military talks in the last few months to completely resolve the military standoff in eastern Ladakh.
