Actress and Bharatiya Janata Party MP Kangana Ranaut’s statements seem to have angered her own party.
Now the party has said that the statements made by Ranaut against the Sikh community are having a bad effect on the good works of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Earlier too, the BJP had distanced itself from the statements made regarding the agricultural laws. Later, the MP also withdrew the statement.
BJP national spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill has alleged that Ranaut’s statements may impact the good work of PM Modi.
He said, ‘Being a Punjabi, I would like to say that Kangana Ranaut’s repeated, baseless, absurd statements against the farmers of Punjab and the Sikh community are adversely affecting all the good work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji for Punjab, Punjabis and Punjabiat.’
He said, ‘PM Narendra Modi’s relationship with farmers and Punjab should not be seen through the prism of irresponsible statements of an MP.’
Kangana took back her statement
On Wednesday, Ranaut withdrew the statement made regarding the three agricultural laws and expressed regret. She said, ‘In response to media questions, I had said that all three agricultural laws should be withdrawn and farmers should request the Prime Minister in this regard.
Many people are disappointed with my statement. When these laws were introduced, many of us supported them, but with great sensitivity and sympathy, the Prime Minister withdrew these laws and it is the duty of all of us activists to maintain the dignity of his words.
