Karnataka government bans firecrackers before Diwali – NNSP

Bengaluru. Karnataka government has banned firecrackers before Diwali. Only green firecrackers have been allowed to be burst in the state. Earlier, Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara had said that the government is considering banning bursting of firecrackers in Bengaluru city during Diwali. The Karnataka Home Minister made this statement in the wake of the fire accident at the beginning of the month, in which 16 people lost their lives. He said that incidents of fire occur every year during Diwali.

Ban imposed to stop pollution

To prevent air pollution caused by bursting of firecrackers and fireworks during Diwali, the Karnataka government has banned bursting of firecrackers.
