Bangalore. The Karnataka government on Tuesday notified dengue fever as an epidemic in the state. This includes all its forms. Apart from this, rules have been made to amend the Karnataka Epidemic Diseases Regulations 2020. According to the data of the state health department, 7362 cases of dengue have been reported from January to July this year. Announcing the action plan to deal with dengue, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said, 7,362 dengue cases have been reported so far this year. Seven people have died so far. Ten beds have been asked to be kept in each ward of the hospital to admit dengue patients. Mosquito nets will be provided to people living in slums.
Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said the government was monitoring the situation and instructions had been given to all departments. “We are monitoring the situation. We have given strict instructions to all departments to reduce the sources of dengue. We have asked ASHA workers and volunteers to go door-to-door. The government is working round the clock. Our aim is to stop the spread of mosquitoes and prevent deaths due to it,” he said.
