There is a huge uproar in Canada over the attack on devotees in a Hindu temple.
Indian-origin MP Chandra Arya has talked about the ‘violence of Khalistani extremists in Canada’. He also said that extremists are getting a free hand in Canada.
A video of the incident has also been shared, in which some people are entering the premises and attacking the people present there.
Arya shared the video and wrote, ‘Khalistani extremists from Canada crossed the Lakshman Rekha today. The attack by Khalistanis on Indian-Canadian devotees at the Hindu Sabha temple complex in Brampton has shown how deep and dangerous Khalistani violent extremism is in Canada.
He further wrote, ‘I am beginning to feel that there is some truth in those reports which say that apart from Canadian politics, Khalistanis have infiltrated our law enforcement agencies.’
He wrote, ‘It is no surprise that in the name of freedom of expression, Khalistanis are getting a free hand in Canada.’
Arya wrote, ‘As I have been saying for a long time, for the safety of our community, Hindu-Canadians have to stand up and fight for their rights and hold politicians accountable.’
Earlier in July also the MP had expressed concern about the violence against the community. The special thing is that the incident has happened at a time when relations between India and Canada remain tense.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has condemned the incident. He wrote, ‘Today’s incident of violence at the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton is not acceptable. Every Canadian has the freedom to practice his or her religion freely in a safe environment.
“Thank you to Peel Regional Police for taking immediate action to protect the community and investigate this incident,” he wrote.
