Haryana. Former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Olympian Manu Bhaker were among the early voters. Khattar said he was confident that the BJP would win 50 out of the 90 assembly seats, while Congress leader Hooda sarcastically said that last time the BJP had said it would cross 75 seats, but whatever they claim , he stopped at 40 seats only. He further said, “Today they were saying that they will get more than 50 seats, so you can imagine how many seats they will get.”
According to sources, 22.7% voting was recorded till 11 am. Voting for 90 assembly seats of Haryana began at 7 am on Saturday, October 5. The announcement and counting of votes will take place on October 8. About 20,632 polling stations have been set up for voting. A total of 1,031 candidates are contesting across all 90 assembly constituencies. A total of 2,03,54,350 voters of the state will be able to exercise their franchise in the 15th Haryana Assembly elections. Meanwhile, security arrangements have been tightened ahead of the assembly elections.
