Lake in Australia named Guru Nanak – NNSP

Amritsar . A lake in the Berwick Springs area has been named Guru Nanak Lake, honoring the Sikh community and their contributions to the Australian state of Victoria. This decision was taken on the occasion of the 555th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji (November 15). Victorian Multicultural Affairs Minister Ingrid Stitt announced that the state government will also provide a $600,000 grant to support the organization of langar ceremonies in Victoria.

Berwick Springs Lake renamed as Guru Nanak Lake
Berwick Springs Lake was renamed Guru Nanak Lake as part of the Name a Place campaign in the Australian state of Victoria. This campaign of the Government of Victoria has been started with the aim of honoring prominent personalities of minority and special communities of the society. Under this initiative, the lake was named after the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak Dev Ji, which is a matter of pride for the Sikh community.
