Patna. On Thursday, the third day of the great festival of folk faith, Chhath, lakhs of devotees across Bihar including Patna offered Arghya to the setting sun at various ghats. A huge crowd of devotees had gathered at various ghats to offer water to Lord Sun. The fasting people mixed milk in water and offered Arghya to the last rays of the sun. Since afternoon, crowds of devotees started gathering at Chhath Ghats in entire Bihar including Patna. From 2 o’clock in the afternoon, people reached their respective ghats to offer prayers to the setting sun. The first day’s Arghya was performed with full faith in all the districts of the state. Let us tell you that like every year, this year too on the occasion of Chhath Mahaparva, lakhs of devotees had reached various ghats of Patna, who offered prayers to the setting sun in the evening. Now today on Friday morning, Ardha will be offered to the rising sun. More than 100 ghats have been prepared for Chhath in Patna. The Mahaparva is being celebrated in 102 Ganga ghats, 63 ponds and 45 parks of Patna. The district administration has made concrete preparations at the ghats regarding this. SP to DSP level officers are deployed for security. Special security arrangements have been made at the Ganga ghats in connection with the Chhath festival in Patna. In Patna, 35 companies of Bihar Special Security Police Force and three companies of CRPF, including 20 officers, have been deployed at all major places. Let us tell you that on the occasion of Chhath festival, there is a belief that by offering Arghya to the Sun God, the devotees seek blessings for the prosperity of their home and society. Today, early Friday morning, a four-day ritual will be completed after offering Arghya to the rising sun. With this, the 36-hour waterless fast of the fasting people will also end.
