Meanwhile, 3 pilgrims were seriously injured due to a landslide on the new route to Mata Vaishno Devi temple in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. Out of these, 2 women died. A girl is undergoing treatment. Officials said that a landslide occurred near Panchi at around 2.35 pm. The tin shed built over the road collapsed due to the falling of soil. Many people were trapped in it.
On the other hand, heavy rains have created flood-like conditions in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. 9 people have died in Andhra and 10 in Telangana in 2 days due to floods and rains. 140 trains have been cancelled in both the states. More than 54 trains have been diverted. 26 teams of HRS have been deployed. Low lying areas have been flooded due to overflowing rivers. Such a flood has occurred in Andhra Pradesh after 1998. 17 thousand people have been rescued. 2.76 lakh people are affected by floods in Vijayawada. Some areas are flooded with water up to 10 feet. Suryapet, Bhadradri, Kothagudem, Mahabubabad districts in Telangana are the most affected by the floods. 110 villages of Khammam are completely submerged in water. Schools have been closed in Hyderabad today.
