The Election Commission of India will announce the dates of Lok Sabha elections today.
With this, the Model Code of Conduct will be implemented in the entire country.
Along with the Lok Sabha, the Election Commission will also announce the assembly elections of four states.
Dates for assembly elections can also be announced in Jammu and Kashmir. There is a possibility that the Lok Sabha elections will be conducted in 7 to 8 phases.
Earlier on Friday, newly appointed Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu took charge.
The Election Commission said in a post on Twitter on Friday that a press conference to announce the voting schedule in India will be held at 3 pm on Saturday.
Elections will be held in April-May this year. Let us tell you that the tenure of the present government is going to end on June 16.
The last Lok Sabha election schedule was announced on March 10. Voting began in seven phases across the country on April 11. The counting of votes was done on 23 May.
