MADHAV Formula guaranteed victory in Maharashtra? How BJP is solving caste equation before elections…

Before the assembly elections in Maharashtra, efforts to resolve caste equations have intensified.

Bharatiya Janata Party is also engaged in wooing the voters at its level. In this context, tax on export of onion was reduced and Banjara Heritage Museum was inaugurated.

Experts derive great political significance from these efforts. BJP, an important part of the ruling Mahayuti alliance in the state, is now also trying the Madhav formula, which is a combined form of 3 OBC castes.

In fact, during the Lok Sabha elections, BJP’s account was not even opened in Marathwada region, whereas in Western Maharashtra the saffron party could win only 2 seats. In such a situation, BJP is once again emphasizing on its old and effective MADHAV formula which represents Mali, Dhangar and Vanjara communities.

These three castes come under OBC. Also, it has always played a decisive role in the elections of Maharashtra. That is why all political parties want to attract MADHAV i.e. Mali, Dhangar and Vanjara voters.

Effort to strengthen hold among OBC

According to the report of Economic Times, party leaders believe that BJP’s hold among these castes has weakened.

The state government’s uncertain attitude towards the demand for Maratha reservation has had an impact. It is being said that OBC voters are moving away from the saffron party.

A senior BJP leader said, ‘The party wants to improve its performance during the assembly elections. For this, leaders of these three castes can be given priority in ticket distribution. We hope that this will strengthen our hold among OBC voters.

Expected good performance in Marathwada region

Marathwada region contains 46 assembly seats of the state. Western Maharashtra has 70 seats, which is more than any other place.

In the last assembly elections, BJP won 20 seats in Western Maharashtra, while 16 candidates won in Marathwada.

It is known that the Mahayuti government recently changed the name of Ahmednagar to Ahilyanagar after the name of Ahilya Devi Holkar.

Ahilyadevi Holkar is revered among the Dhangar community, she is equivalent to a deity for them. Apart from this, the state government has decided to set up 2 corporations for the economic development of Brahmin and Rajput communities. Through this, there is an effort to strengthen its presence among the upper castes.
