Urging everyone to unite to protect farmers and their land, Mahant Kumar Chandrashekarnath Swamiji of Vishva Vokkaliga Mahasamastan Math said on Tuesday that a law should be brought in which the Muslim community does not have the right to vote.
Swamiji said that it should be ensured that there is no Waqf Board. He said that snatching someone else’s land is not ‘religion’. This statement has come at a time when the dispute regarding Waqf property continues.
Swamiji said, ‘Everyone should fight against the injustice being done to farmers…It is said that the Waqf Board can claim anyone’s land. This is a huge injustice… snatching away someone else’s land is not religion… so everyone should fight to ensure that the farmers’ land remains with them.
Addressing a protest meeting organized by the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh in Bengaluru, he said, ‘Farmers are food providers, so they should be protected and promoted, and it should be ensured that no one snatches their land and property.’
Swamiji claimed, ‘Everyone should ensure that there is no Waqf Board… because leaders do things for votes. A law should be brought in which the Muslim community does not have the right to vote… This should definitely be done. In Pakistan, they have done this, there others do not have the right to vote.
He said, ‘Similarly, in India too, if we ensure that they (Muslims) do not have the right to vote, then they will remain (limited) to themselves and everyone can live in peace.’
A section of farmers and others in parts of Karnataka have alleged that their lands have been marked as Waqf property, which has been protested by various farmer groups, organizations and the opposition BJP.
