Malayalam film director accused of sexually harassing male actor, case registered

Bengaluru. A case has been registered against famous Malayalam film director Ranjith Balakrishnan for sexually harassing a male actor. After this news, there is once again a stir in the film industry. The 31-year-old actor has filed a police complaint against Ranjith in Bengaluru, alleging that the director sexually assaulted him at a five-star hotel. The male actor told that he met Ranjith for the first time in Kozhikode, when the director was shooting for the film ‘Bavutiyude Namathil’. She said that Ranjith called her in December 2012 to a hotel near the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, saying that there was an audition. But there Ranjeet forced her to take off her clothes. At first the actor thought it was just a part of the audition.

A Bengali actress has already made allegations
There has been a sensation after this case against the director who won the National Film Award three times. Even before this, Ranjit has been accused of sexual harassment by a Bengali actress. The actress sent her complaint to the Kochi Police Commissioner through email, in which she alleged that Ranjith had called her in 2009 on the pretext of audition for the film ‘Paleri Manikyam’ and touched her indecently. Ranjeet has rejected these allegations and said that he had only called the actress for the audition, but later sent her back as she was not well. But after these allegations Ranjit had to resign from the post of President of Kerala State Film Academy.
