Preparations are going on for the inauguration of Ram temple.
Meanwhile, there are reports that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee may distance herself from the program.
However, no official reason has been given by Trinamool Congress regarding this, but it has indicated that the chances of CM Banerjee attending the inauguration program are less. The special thing is that Left leader Sitaram Yechury has also rejected the invitation for the inauguration.
Left party claims first
The Left party on Tuesday said it believes religion is a personal matter. “Our policy is to respect religious beliefs and the right of every individual to pursue his or her faith,” the CPI(M) said in a post on ‘X’.
Religion is a matter of personal choice, which should not be converted into an instrument of political gain. Despite receiving the invitation, Comrade Sitaram Yechury will not attend the function.
The party said, ‘CPI(M)’s policy has been to respect religious beliefs and protect the right of every individual to pursue his or her faith. He believes that religion is a matter of personal choice, which should not be turned into a means of political gain.’
TMC’s answer
According to TMC sources, neither Banerjee nor any representative of the West Bengal government or the party will be present in the program to be held on January 22. A senior TMC leader told PTI, ‘There is no question of Mamata Banerjee or any other TMC representative attending the inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya next month. We do not believe in mixing politics with religion.
While talking to NDTV, TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said, ‘Mamata Banerjee will soon put forward her views. The view of Trinamool Congress is clear that we respect all religions and Lord Ram. We worship him, but BJP is misusing the name of Lord Ram and we oppose it.
The channel quoted sources as saying that CM Banerjee will be busy in the Gangasagar Fair around the inauguration of the temple. This fair is organized around Makas Sankranti i.e. in mid-January.
