Man who commented on wife got punishment, fired from job after threat of acid attack

A company employee has been fired from his job for allegedly threatening to throw acid on a woman’s face in Bengaluru. Sources said on Friday that the accused had threatened a man that he would throw acid on his wife’s face. The police is investigating against the accused Nikit Shetty.

Accused Nikit had sent a threatening message to a person named Ansar.

On October 9, Nikit sent a message to a person named Ansar, allegedly saying, “Tell your wife to wear nice clothes, especially in Karnataka, otherwise I can throw acid on her face.” After receiving the message, Ansar informed the police and also shared its screenshot.

The victim had complained by tagging Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar.

Ansar posted on Internet Media, Director General of Police, Chief Minister’s Office and Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, DK Shivkumar, this is a serious matter. The police is investigating against the accused Nikit Shetty. This person is threatening to throw acid on his face due to the selection of my wife’s clothes. Please take action. Later Ansar wrote, the man who threatened to attack my wife with acid, has been fired by the company.

The company took immediate action and fired the accused.

Life imprisonment for acid attack

Section 124 of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS) addresses offenses involving attacks using acid or similar substances. This section imposes severe penalties for causing permanent damage or grievous harm through acid attacks, including life imprisonment and a fine to cover the medical expenses of the victim.
