Manoj Jarange did not agree with 10% Maratha reservation, said to the government – this is a deception and will intensify the movement…

The Maharashtra Cabinet on Tuesday approved the draft bill for 10% Maratha reservation in education and government jobs. However, Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange Patil did not seem satisfied with this.

According to news agency ANI, Jarange said that the government has taken this decision keeping in mind the elections and votes.

He called it a betrayal of the Maratha community. Jarange said, ‘The Maratha community is not going to trust you. We will get benefit only from our basic demands. There is a need to make a law…this reservation will not last. At the same time, the government will now also lie that it has given reservation.

Manoj Jarange Patil said that the demands of Marathas have not been fulfilled. Due to this, the reservation limit will go above 50 percent, which will be canceled by the Supreme Court. We need such reservation which is from OBC quota and remains below 50 percent.

He said that if Marathas do not get reservation from OBC quota, our movement will intensify. Let us tell you that the Maharashtra Cabinet has approved the draft of the bill to give 10% reservation to Marathas. With this decision, the reservation limit for Marathas in the state will exceed 50%. Now this bill will be presented in the Legislative Council and Assembly.

Jarange on indefinite fast from 10th February
Social activist Manoj Jarange is currently on an indefinite fast since February 10 at his native place in Jalna district regarding Maratha reservation. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had emphasized that reservation would be given to people of the Maratha community without disturbing the existing reservation of other communities.

He also urged worker Jaranga to end his indefinite fast. Shinde said that the state government’s stance regarding providing reservation to the community is positive.

The survey began on January 23 across Maharashtra in which 3.5 lakh to 4 lakh state government employees participated. This survey has been conducted on 2.5 crore families.
