Srinagar. A cloudburst occurred in Kangan area of ​​Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday in which many houses and vehicles were swept away. Srinagar National Highway and Srinagar-Kargil road have been closed due to debris falling on the road. Kachkarwan, Cherwa and Padbal villages have been most affected. There is no news of any loss of life or property yet.
The road has also been damaged due to cloudburst in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir. Due to which Srinagar-Leh national highway has been closed. Many houses and vehicles have also been damaged. Floods caused by cloudburst have damaged some buildings including houses. In the month of May also, the road was damaged due to cloudburst. Officials have reached the spot to help the people. Due to the closure of the highway, the connection of Kashmir valley with Ladakh union territory has been cut off while going to Baltal camp for Amarnath Yatra has also become inaccessible. Officials have reached the spot to assess the damage. According to local people, crops have also been damaged due to cloudburst in Kangan, Ganderbal.

Red alert issued for heavy rain


On the other hand, the weather department has issued a red alert for heavy rains in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan on Sunday. Heavy rains have been continuing in Madhya Pradesh for the last three days. Water has overflowed in ten big dams of the state due to which the gates of the dams were opened. Since the onset of monsoon on June 21, the state has received 58 percent or 21.6 inches of rain so far. This is 2.6 inches more rain than normal.

Rajasthan has received 21% more rainfall in the monsoon season so far. The state usually receives an average rainfall of 231.3 mm from June 1 to August 3, while this season has received 280.6 mm rainfall so far. In Himachal Pradesh, 114 roads are closed due to cloudburst incidents in the last few days. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in the state till August 7 and has issued a yellow alert. 79 people have died in rain, floods and landslides in the state between June 27 and August 1.
