Union Water Minister CR Patil awarded at the 5th National Water Awards ceremony in New Delhi
Gram Panchayat Masulpani of Kanker district was awarded the second prize in the category of Best Panchayat in the 5th National Water Awards ceremony for its remarkable work in the field of water conservation.
Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Masulpani, Mrs. Ramiya Netam was awarded by Union Water Minister CR Patil in a function organized at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
It is noteworthy that Masulpani Panchayat has done remarkable work in the field of water conservation. 161 water shed structures have been built in this gram panchayat, which includes 99 farm ponds. Apart from this, 39 nos. of brushwood, one community pond de-silting, 02 wells, 02 underground dams, 03 gabions and other structures have been constructed by the Panchayat during the year 2023.
Due to this, people have started using surface water for irrigation. Masulpani Gram Panchayat has been awarded for this innovation towards water conservation and its proper utilization.
