Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leaving on a three-day visit to America on Saturday.
During this, he will meet US President Joe Biden in Wilmington, Delaware. This is also Joe Biden’s hometown. At the same time, Donald Trump has claimed that Prime Minister Modi is also going to meet him.
However, no concrete answer has been given by the Foreign Ministry on the meeting with Trump. The meeting of the two leaders has not been ruled out either.
The issue of the war between Ukraine and Russia will also be included in this visit of PM Modi. Recently he had talked to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Amid ceasefire efforts, PM Modi can share a big thing with Joe Biden about stopping the war between Russia and Ukraine.
This three-day visit to America will focus on discussing ways to enhance cooperation among member countries to ensure stability in the Indo-Pacific region and to address the concerns of the ‘Global South’.
Modi will attend the annual Quad summit in Wilmington, Delaware. Apart from this, Prime Minister Modi will address the ‘Summit of the Future’ at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, hold a roundtable with CEOs of top US companies working in the technology sector and hold bilateral talks with US President Joe Biden and several other global leaders.
Discussion with the leaders of Quad countries as well
Prime Minister Modi will first reach Wilmington where he will join the US President, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida in the Quad summit on September 21. Wilmington is Biden’s hometown.
Modi will also hold separate bilateral talks with the leaders of the three Quad countries. The Quad summit is expected to discuss ways to enhance cooperation among member countries to ensure peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region, besides deliberating on the conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said, “We expect that several new initiatives will be announced.” The Quad leaders will launch an ambitious new plan to prevent, detect, treat and reduce the impact of cancer on patients and their families.
Misri said the Quad summit will focus on peace, progress and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. He said all the leaders will discuss health security, climate change, emerging technologies, infrastructure, connectivity, counter-terrorism and humanitarian assistance.

Responding to a question on India’s possible role as a peacemaker in resolving the Ukraine conflict, Misri told reporters that New Delhi is engaged in several discussions with key partners and leaders on the issue.
He said, “We are currently engaged in a number of conversations with a number of important partners and leaders. These conversations are in progress and we will inform you about the results of these conversations at the right time.”
