Families of soldiers martyred in Naxalite violence honored
26 January Republic Day was celebrated with joy and enthusiasm in Sukma district.
Chief guest Keshkal MLA Neelkanth Tekam hoisted the flag in the Republic Day main function organized at the Mini Stadium of District Headquarters Sukma.
The chief guest inspected the parade and took the salute. They released white pigeons, symbolizing peace and love, and colorful balloons, symbolizing joy and happiness, into the sky.
On this occasion, the message of the Chief Minister of the state to the public was read out. In the ceremony, Tekam honored the families of the soldiers martyred in Naxalite violence by giving them shawls and quinces and honored the officers and employees who did excellent work by giving them citations.
In the presentation of cultural program (mass dance) in the main function of Republic Day, Government Girls Higher Secondary School Sukma got first place, Boys Ashram, Jhapra got second place and Girls Government Girls School Chhindgarh got third place.
In the tableau display, Education Department was declared at first place, Veterinary Department at second place and Tribal Department at third place. In the parade display senior wing, Bastar Fighter got first place, Chhattisgarh District Police Force got second place and Chhattisgarh Armed Force got third place.
Similarly, in the Parade Junior category, the first position was held by Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Sukma, second position was held by IMST School, Sukma and the third position was held by Sejas Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Sukma.
District Panchayat Sukma President Harish Kawasi, Municipality President Jagannath Sahu, Vice President Municipality Smt. Ayesha Hussain, Dhaniram Barse, Manoj Dev, Soyam Mukka, Hungaram Markam, Rama Sodi, Arun Singh Bhadauria and other public representatives, Collector Haris S, participated in the Republic Day function. Superintendent of Police Kiran Gangaram Chavan, officers and employees of various departments, distinguished citizens and a large number of school children were present.
