More votes were cast than valid votes, questions raised on Nawaz Sharif’s victory, are elections going on in Pakistan or a joke…

Election results in Pakistan are fluctuating like a drama.

A shocking claim has been made on the Twitter handle of Imran Khan’s party PTI. In this, Nawaz Sharif’s victory has been challenged.

A photo has also been shared in the tweet in which the vote figures are shown. The tweet reads that the total number of valid votes is more than the total number of votes cast.

It is further written that Nawaz Sharif should be ashamed for stealing public support in this way. Let us tell you that Nawaz Sharif has claimed that his party is the largest party in the elections and he is ready for alliance.

What did PTI share?
The picture shared by PTI on social media site X is the election result of Nawaz Sharif’s constituency, N 130-Lahore 14.

Details of the result are given in it. In the paper whose picture has been posted, the total votes cast are stated to be 293693. While the total valid votes are stated to be 294043. Regarding this, PTI has claimed that Nawaz Sharif has wrongly claimed his victory.

It is noteworthy that the election results in Pakistan have not been fully declared yet. According to Dawn of Pakistan newspaper, pro-PTI candidates are leading in 67 seats. At the same time, candidates of Nawaz Sharif’s party are leading on 48 seats.

Imran’s party has an edge
It is noteworthy that independent candidates supported by jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party PTI seem to be getting an edge in Pakistan’s election results on Friday. Election results are slowly coming in after unusual delays. PTI also made allegations of rigging regarding the delay in election results.

Counting of votes is still going on in Pakistan. Elections were held in the country on Thursday amid allegations of rigging, sporadic violence and mobile internet shutdown. Dozens of parties were in the fray in this election in Pakistan, but the main contest was between Imran Khan’s party ‘Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’ (PTI), three-time Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Pakistan Muslim League (N) and Bilawal Zardari Bhutto’s ‘ Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

To form a new government in the country, any party will have to win 133 out of 265 seats in the National Assembly. The election on one seat was postponed after the death of a candidate.

Overall, 169 seats out of 336 are needed to achieve majority, including seats reserved for women and minorities. Pakistani officials were extremely slow in announcing the results of Thursday’s elections. According to the counts so far, independent candidates supported by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), disqualified and jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party, have performed surprisingly well.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) started updating the results at a faster pace after facing criticism from parties, especially Khan’s PTI. PTI party had alleged that its mandate was being stolen.
