Astronauts Sunita Williams and Barry Wilmore, who went to the space station in early June this year, will now return in February next year.
Both NASA astronauts had reached the International Space Station on Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft and were to return to Earth within a week, but after a malfunction in the spacecraft, both of them will have to spend a longer time in space.
Meanwhile, people from all over the world are expressing concern for Sunita and Barry. Sunita Williams’ husband and mother have also now broken their silence.
Sunita’s mother told that recently I talked to my daughter and she told me that everything will be fine, I should not worry.
In an interview with American media house Wall Street Journal, husband Michael said, “That is her happy place.” Apart from this, mother Bonnie Pandya said that she has no problem if her daughter is taking more time than expected to return to Earth.
He said both Wilmore and Williams are hard at work aboard the International Space Station.
In the interview, Sunita Williams’ mother Bonnie Pandya described her daughter as an experienced astronaut. She said, “I don’t give her any advice. She knows what to do. She is an experienced astronaut. She has been in space for more than 400 days.”
Let us tell you that Sunita’s mother had talked to her daughter just two days ago. She told that Sunita told her mother not to worry about her and that everything will be fine.
The return of Sunita Williams and Barry Wilmore was halted after a helium leak and thruster problems in the Boeing spacecraft.
NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said recently that the two astronauts will now return in February next year via the SpaceX capsule, while the Starliner will return to Earth without a crew.
