A bus full of pilgrims was attacked by terrorists on June 9 in Reasi area. Nine people, including seven pilgrims from outside Jammu and Kashmir, were killed while 41 were injured in the firing on the bus.
On Friday morning, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) started searches at several places in Rajouri and Reasi districts as part of the investigation into the deadly terrorist attack in June on a bus of pilgrims returning from Shiv Khori temple.
On June 9, nine people, including seven pilgrims from outside Jammu and Kashmir, were killed and 41 were injured when terrorists opened fire on a bus. During the incident, the bus going from Shiv Khori temple to Katra, went off the road after a barrage of firing near Terayath village of Pauni area of Reasi and fell into a deep ditch.
Home Ministry had handed over the case to NIA
On June 17, the Home Ministry had handed over the case of the terrorist attack to the NIA. So far, a person named Hakam Khan, a resident of Rajouri, has been arrested in this case, who besides allegedly providing food, shelter and logistics to the terrorists, also helped in reconnaissance of the area before the attack.
Officials said that several NIA teams are conducting searches in Rajouri and Reasi districts since this morning in the Shiv Khori terrorist attack case. He said that the search is going on and further details are awaited.
