The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday raided 22 places in six states in a human trafficking case. The search operation has been going on since morning by different teams of NIA along with the state police.
Let us inform that with the aim of dismantling the organized smuggling network, this investigation campaign has been conducted on the basis of special inputs at the hideouts of the suspects. According to official sources, raids were conducted in several states, targeting individuals and organizations suspected to be involved in trafficking of vulnerable persons.
This is why searches are being conducted
This coordinated search operation is part of an ongoing investigation into a criminal network engaged in forced labor and exploitation through trafficking. NIA has taken over the case from the local police. The case reportedly involves trafficking of men, women and children across state borders and possibly internationally.
India’s premier counter-terrorism and investigation agency NIA took over the case after suspecting a large organized network linked to cross-border syndicates.
NIA intensified action
Authorities have stepped up efforts to combat human trafficking in recent years, with a greater focus on disrupting traffickers’ supply chains and rescuing victims. The NIA raid is an important step towards ending such crimes.
India has long grappled with the issue of human trafficking, with thousands of people, especially from economically weaker communities, becoming victims of traffickers every year. Despite strict laws and international commitments, trafficking networks are expanding rapidly across regions.
