Political parties and many social organizations across the country are demanding caste census.
In Bihar, when Nitish Kumar was running the government with RJD, he had conducted the caste census.
Since then he has been demanding to do so in the entire country. Apart from this, another alliance partner Chirag Paswan has also been making such demands.
Anupriya Patel, Sanjay Nishad and OP Rajbhar from UP have also repeated this. Meanwhile, TDP, the largest coalition partner of the NDA government, has also reiterated this demand.
BJP’s mother organization RSS has also spoken in its favor. The Sangh said that this can be done, as long as it is not used politically.
Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu has called caste census necessary in an interview given to Indian Express. He said that there should be a cast census. This is public sentiment and there is nothing wrong in it.
Naidu said, ‘You should conduct caste census. Then do economic analysis. Do a skills census. This will let you know who’s situation is what and then based on that it will help in removing economic inequality.

It is true that poverty is the biggest issue in the country. Even if you are from a lower caste and have money, people will respect you.
You will be respected in the society. But even if you belong to an upper caste but are poor then no one will give you importance. This is the truth.
Therefore, economic status is the biggest measure of equality. Therefore, you will have to work to eliminate economic inequality to create balance in the society.

The Sangh said that if the society feels like it then it can be done, but it should not be used for political gains. This increases animosity in the society.
