Not PM Modi, the President should consecrate Ram Lalla in Ayodhya; Uddhav Thackeray said…

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday demanded that President Draupadi Murmu should consecrate the Ram temple in Ayodhya, as it is a matter of national pride and self-respect.

Thackeray said he would invite Murmu to visit the Kalaram temple in Nashik. Thackeray will visit the Kalaram temple in Ayodhya on January 22, the day of the consecration ceremony.

Thackeray had earlier announced that he would visit the iconic Kalaram temple in Nashik on January 22 along with his party leaders and office-bearers and perform Paramaha Aarti on the banks of the Godavari river.

A day after this, i.e. on January 23, a conference of office bearers will also be organized in Nashik, where Thackeray will also address a rally.

Thackeray said that the function organized after the renovation of Somnath temple in Gujarat was presided over by the country’s first President Dr. Rajendra Prasad.

He said, this (Ayodhya Ram Temple) is a matter of national pride and self-respect of the country, hence the consecration should be done by President Murmu.
