Rohtak. The case of rape and murder of a female doctor in Kolkata has not yet cooled down when another horrifying incident has taken place in Haryana. A medical student of PGIMS Rohtak was kidnapped by a senior resident doctor and then taken to Chandigarh and assaulted. The victim student has been admitted to PGIMS. At the same time, the Health University administration has suspended the accused resident doctor from the institute and has banned him from entering the PGIMS campus. The police has taken the accused into custody.
The medical student of PGIMS says that on the evening of August 16, resident doctor of the institute Maninder Kaushik kidnapped her in a car. Then he kept roaming her around Ambala and Chandigarh at night. On August 17, at around 3:30 in the afternoon, he brought her back to Rohtak. During this, she was beaten up in Chandigarh. This medical student is in shock due to this incident. The PGIMS administration was informed about this incident. The student has been admitted to PGIMS itself. University spokesperson Dr. Varun Arora issued a statement late Sunday evening saying that the institute is serious about the safety of every female employee, female resident doctor and girl student. Due to this, the Health University administration has taken strict cognizance of this matter. The accused resident doctor is a first year MD student of Anatomy Department. He has been suspended from the institute and has been banned from entering the campus.
