Sakshi Malik has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya to save the future of wrestling.
Malik, while addressing PM Modi in his video message posted on social media, said that wrestling federation elections were held last year.
The very next day, you and the whole country saw Brajbhushan’s ‘absurdity’ and dominance, due to which I had to give up my wrestling with sadness and a very troubled heart.
But it didn’t make much difference. After a few days, the Federation again started its work.
Because of speaking openly on this issue, I am constantly being threatened by the people of Braj Bhushan that I will be implicated in a corruption case.
Sakshi Malik said, “I am looking at the recruitment of children in this Northern Railway. In such a situation, there is a constant threat from the people of Brajbhushan Sharan Singh that he will be implicated in corruption charges under these recruitments.
Malik said that he does not care much about such threats but feels sad that the future of wrestling is in the hands of people who are spoiling it. I request you (PM Modi) to save our wrestling.
Forwarded to the Federation on the orders of the High Court – Malik
On the wrestling federation continuing to work even after its cancellation, Sakshi said that even the High Court had reprimanded the federation that had been canceled by the government and had stopped its activities for continuing to work, but still their work did not stop.
When the High Court intervened again, they put the children forward.
Sakshi said, “I can understand the compulsions of those children, their entire career is ahead of them. And that career is in the hands of such a federation.
Sir, I request you that if you feel that the future of girls is safe in the federation dominated by Braj Bhushan, then you should lift the suspension on the federation. And if you don’t think so then think of a permanent solution.”
