The opposition, angry with the alleged biased attitude of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, is seriously considering bringing a proposal to remove him from the post.
According to sources, the opposition can give a notice against him under Article 67 of the Constitution. 87 MPs have also signed this notice to remove the Vice President from his post. Congress MP Ajay Maken said that all options are open.
Sources say that under Article 67 (B), the Vice President can be removed by a concurrence resolution of the Lok Sabha passed by a majority of all the then members of the Rajya Sabha.
No motion for the purpose of this section may be moved in the House unless at least 14 days’ notice has been given of the intention to move the motion.
will give notice in next session
An opposition member claimed that two days ago, Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha JP Nadda was informally informed that the opposition was considering a motion to remove the Vice President.
According to sources, after the Parliament proceedings were adjourned indefinitely, the opposition can now give notice in the next session of Parliament so that it can present the proposal 14 days after that.
The constituent parties of the opposition party India allege that the attitude of the Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar in the Rajya Sabha seems biased. The situation is such that the Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge is not allowed to speak and his mic is switched off.
Congress said, the attitude of the government is dictatorial
Speaking to the media in the Parliament House complex, Congress MPs Ajay Maken and Pramod Tiwari said that the government bringing a censure motion (against the conduct of the opposition) inside the House is proof that the government’s attitude is dictatorial. They said that despite this attitude of the government, the opposition will continue to raise the voice of the people in a democratic way.
The words chosen by Pramod Tiwari for BJP member Ghanshyam Tiwari, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, were not good.
His body language was not good and neither was his tone. This is unacceptable. SP MP Jaya Bachchan has also objected to the tone of the Rajya Sabha Chairman.
Along with this, he also accused the Speaker of not giving the opposition members an opportunity to speak.
