Dehradun. Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee in Uttarakhand is also on alert after the case of adulteration in Tirupati temple Prasad came to light. The committee has issued SOP for the quality and purity of Bhog and Prasad in the temples under BKTC apart from Badrinath, Kedarnath Dham. After which food safety audit will have to be done once a year.
At the same time, Badri-Kedar Temple Committee has also issued SOP for the quality and purity of Bhog and Prasad in the temples under the committee along with Badrinath and Kedarnath Dhams. Under this SOP, instructions have been given for preparing the offerings made for the temples, storing the food items used in the offerings as well as monitoring them. It has also been said that a full safety audit of Bhog Prasad will be conducted once a year. In this, the food items will be tested in a laboratory authorized by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India.
Along with examining the rice, oil, spices and saffron used in Prasad and Bhog, instructions have been given to purchase all the ingredients from a trusted trader. The oil used for preparing Bhog and Prasad has been asked to be used a maximum of three times.
