Kerala: In a shocking incident, an OYO hotel in Kerala’s Ernakulam reported that a customer was denied his pre-booked room, leading to a court judgement against the hotel owner.
Upon reaching the hotel late at night with his family, the customer was surprised when the hotel owner refused to honor the reservation, causing him a lot of inconvenience. The situation escalated to legal action, which resulted in the court ordering the hotel owner to pay a hefty fine of ₹1,10,000 for the inconvenience.
The court emphasised that there should be serious consequences for the hotel owner’s refusal to provide accommodation, despite the customer’s advance booking. Customer Arun Das recalled the incident, highlighting his struggle to find alternative accommodation for his family, which included elderly parents and children, who were turned away.
