A 30-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh was arrested for allegedly raping a three-year-old girl in Telangana’s Siddipet district, police said on Wednesday. The accused, a painter from UP’s Gorakhpur, took the girl away from her family members on August 19 on the pretext of playing and allegedly sexually assaulted her in a room of an under-construction apartment, they said.
The accused went to meet her on the pretext of painting her house, police said. The girl’s grandfather, who works as a watchman and lives with his family in the under-construction apartment, heard her screams and rushed to her rescue. A complaint was lodged with the police, who admitted her to a hospital, a Siddipet police release said.
How is the girl’s condition?
According to the report, a case was registered and the accused was arrested on August 20 and sent to judicial custody. The condition of the girl undergoing treatment in the hospital is said to be stable. Earlier also a shocking case had come to light from Telangana.
A police inspector of Kakatiya University Police Station in Telangana’s Hanumakonda district was arrested on Friday for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl. A case was registered against him under sections of rape and POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act.
