Pakistan has offered assistance to the new government in Bangladesh after the coup of former PM Sheikh Hasina.
However, Pakistan itself is currently waiting for a loan from the IMF.
Actually, Bangladesh is currently facing a devastating flood, due to which around 15 people have died so far, while lakhs of people are still trapped in this flood. Apart from this, crops and domestic animals have also been damaged.
This flood in Bangladesh, following a violent political crisis, has wreaked havoc.
The office of Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that PM Sharif has written a letter to the head of the Bangladesh Internal Government Mohammad Yunus expressing his solidarity in such difficult times.
In the letter, the PM said that Pakistan stands in solidarity with the people of Bangladesh who have lost their families and livelihoods in these devastating floods.
Apart from this, Pakistan PM Sharif, despite his poverty-stricken condition, said that we are ready to help Bangladesh in any way possible in this hour of crisis.
Apart from this, Sharif praised the interim government and said that the people of Bangladesh are known for their bravery and courage. We hope that the Bangladesh leadership will guide the country properly in this challenging time.
Due to monsoon rains, there is a possibility of floods in this area during this time of the year.
Most of Bangladesh is made up of deltas, where the rivers Ganga and Brahmaputra originating from the Himalayas flow out of India and meet the sea.
According to media reports, all the major rivers of both the states were in spate due to heavy rains at this time, which has caused this flood.
The most affected state in India due to this flood is Tripura. According to media reports, 23 people have died so far in Tripura.
According to a statement issued by the Bangladesh government, this flood has caused huge damage in Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar.
About one million Rohingya refugees from Myanmar also live in these areas. Apart from this, Bangladesh has shifted about 2 lakh people to safer places to avoid this flood.
