Pakistan, notorious for promoting terrorism across the world, has taken a new bold step regarding Junagadh located in Gujarat.
Calling Junagadh a part of Pakistan, it has said that India has illegally occupied it. According to Geo TV, Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mumtaz Zehra Baloch has given this statement regarding Junagadh.
Mumtaz Zehra said in the press conference that Pakistan’s policy statement regarding Junagadh has always been clear. He said, “Junagadh was annexed to Pakistan. Pakistan sees this matter in historical and legal perspective. Junagadh was a part of Pakistan and India’s illegal occupation of it is a violation of the United Nations Charter and international norms.”
Mumtaz further said that Pakistan has always raised the issues of Junagadh on political and diplomatic forums. It wants a peaceful solution to this.
He further said, “Pakistan considers the Junagadh issue as an unfinished agenda like Jammu and Kashmir.” In this press conference, Mumtaz also made a statement on Bangladesh and emphasized on developing strong relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh and said that it will improve with the cooperation of both the governments.
Pakistan has shown Junagadh in its map
Let us tell you that Pakistan has already dared to do anything regarding Junagadh. In the year 2020, the then Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan released a new political map, after which India gave a befitting reply.
While Pakistan had claimed the areas of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh as its own, it had also included Junagadh. After this, the Indian Foreign Ministry had said in an official statement that we have seen the so-called political map of Pakistan which has been released by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
This is an exercise in political stupidity, making unsubstantiated claims on territories of the Indian state of Gujarat and our Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. These ridiculous claims have neither legal validity nor international credibility.
