In the last few days, the tension between India and Canada over the issue of Khalistani terrorists has increased manifold.
On one hand, Justin Trudeau’s government is encouraging Khalistanis, while on the other hand it is making fabricated allegations against India.
Meanwhile, the statement of a top official of the Canadian Intelligence Service (CSIS) has once again raised questions on Canada’s intentions.
The head of the Intelligence Department has revealed that Pakistan has a hand in promoting Khalistanis and is trying to make fun of it.
CISS interim director Vanessa Lloyd appeared before a commission in September and was questioned about it by commission lawyer Shantona Chaudhary.
Vanessa Lloyd said during this time, “Pakistan is constantly trying to reduce India’s influence. “Pakistan is directly supporting Khalistani extremism.”
This statement of Vanessa Lloyd matches with India’s allegations that Pakistan is serving its interests against India by promoting Khalistani terrorists who have found refuge in Canada.
A senior government source was quoted as saying, “You may not agree with us but this is what your own intelligence officer says. He has nothing to do with this fight.”
The official raised questions on the Canadian PM, “Why is he not taking issue with this?” Indian officials believe that Canada’s intentions behind increasing differences between the two countries are not good and they are making fabricated allegations like violation of the country’s sovereignty.
