Demonstration continues for 6 days
Farmers from Punjab, Haryana and different parts of North India are trying to march towards Delhi. At present, farmers are standing at Shambhu and Khanauri border. However, recently farmers have said that the proposals received from the government will be considered in two days and after that a decision will be taken.

Six days have passed since the latest demonstration by farmers on Sunday. These farmers are making many demands from the Central Government including legal guarantee on MSP, loan waiver.

After concluding talks with farmer leaders, Goyal said late on Sunday night that the government has directed cooperative societies NCCF (National Consumer Cooperative Federation of India Limited) and NAFED (National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India) to negotiate with farmers for purchasing pulses at MSP. A one-year agreement has been proposed.

He said that apart from this, Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) has proposed to enter into a five-year agreement with the farmers to buy cotton crop at MSP.

Goyal said that farmer leaders will inform about their decision on the government’s proposals by Monday. After the meeting ended, Goyal said that the talks with the farmers were held in a cordial atmosphere.

He said, ‘We have proposed to cooperative societies NCCF and NAFED to enter into a five-year agreement with farmers to purchase pulses at MSP.’ Goyal said, ‘We have proposed that the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) will enter into a five-year agreement with farmers to purchase cotton crop at MSP.’
